Public lecture on 'SDGs and Entrepreneurship Economics'

A public lecture on "SDGs and Entrepreneurship Economics'' was organized by Dhaka School of Economics recently. Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, Chairman, Governing council as a chief guest spoke on this occasion. He told that the role of entrepreneurship and innovation in the realization of the social and economic gains envisioned by the Sustainable Development Goals is very crucial.
Dr Ahmad argued that in a country like Bangladesh entrepreneurship can play   role in creating jobs, driving economic growth, addressing environmental challenges, and enabling unemployed  to turn that creative energy into ideas. He said that  government agencies had been created to help the private sector to become the main engine of Bangladesh's envelopment  as the country transitioned from a least developed economy to a "key paradigm shift " of middle income country.
As a session chair Prof Dr Muhammad Mahboob Ali said that as prime minister is trying heart and soul to improve quality of education, so Bangladesh national educational qualification framework must took consideration into developed nations not cut paste of Malaysia. He also argued that each year one date must be declared as Entrepreneurship day to create awareness of entrepreneurial growth and some banks head offices must be transferred from Dhaka to different areas of the country so that entrepreneurial financial linkage can be established.
Former Professor, Dept of History, University of Dhaka Zaheda Ahmad attend the program as Special guest while among others Assistant Professor Rehena Parvin also spoke in this occasion.
Two days poster competition arranged by the entrepreneurship students were inaugurated by Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad. Total 10 groups of Master of Economics (Entrepreneurship Economics) program were presenting different aspects of entrepreneurial innovations and creativity.
