The Bangladesh Navy has rescued 16 fishermen alive from a fishing boat 'FB Al Hasan' after the engine failed and floated in the Bay of Bengal for 22 days. On Friday (January 6th), the Navy ships Nirmul and Atandra patrolled the deep sea and rescued the fishing boat, which was floating 63 nautical miles from St. Martin, along with the fisherman. The rescued fishermen are Kashem Kerani (60), Babul (32), Al Amin (20), Hossain (28), Tofazzal (50), Khalil (38), Shakil, Aziz (8), Nazrul (59) and Shamim. Sikder (28), Abul Kashem (45), Kabir Uddin (42), Jagannath (45), Yusuf (38), Ramzan (50), Hafeez (35), Shah Alam (40) and Bablu (34). The matter was confirmed in an ISPR notification on Saturday.. According to the rescued fishermen, on December 9, the fishing boat went to sea with 18 fishermen for fishing.
