After Indian and domestic onions, Chinese onions are now being sold on the trucks of the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) in the port city at Tk 30 per kg.There was a long line of people behind the TCB truck. Onion is more in demand than sugar, pulses, soybean oil.Asaduzzaman came to Jamalkhan to buy onions and said that small local onions sell of Tk 95-100 taka in retail shops. I bought Indian onion from TCB truck for some time. Now I am buying big Chinese onions.Another buyer said it would have been better if the government had sold potatoes on TCB trucks for Tk 30 along with onions. Jamal Uddin Ahmed, head of TCB's Chattogram regional office, told that onions, are being sold on six trucks in Chittagong city. Besides, three trucks have been sent to Anwara, Mirsarai and Khagrachari. Chinese onions are being sold at the consumer level at Tk 30 per kg.
