Sensational Rifat murder case ; Minni`s fate to be decided today

The verdict against 10 adult accused in the case filed over the murder of Rifat Sharif in Barguna will be pronounced today (Wednesday).
Barguna District and Session's Judge M Asaduzzaman fixed the date on September 16 on completion of arguments from both prosecution and defence sides.
The trial proceedings of the sensational murder case are going to be completed in just one year and three months.
The 10 accused are Rifat's wife Aysha Siddika Minni, Rakibul Hasan Rifat Farazi, Al Kaiyum alias Akon, Mohaiminul Islam Sifat, Rezwan Ali Khan Hridoy, Md Hasan, Md Musa, Rafiul Islam Rabbi, Md Sagor and Kamrul Islam Saimun.
Rifat, 22, was attacked with sharp weapons near the main gate of Barguna Government College on June 26 last year while his wife Minni appeared to be trying to protect him from the attackers.
Twenty-four people were accused in the murder case filed by Rifat's father.
The young man's wife, Minni, initially named as a witness, was later arrested on July 16 year, and made an accused in the case.
The main accused, Sabbir Ahmed alias Nayon Bond, was killed in a reported gunfight with law enforcers on July 2 last year.
The High Court on August 29, 2019 granted bail to Minni on condition that she would remain in her father's custody and refrain from talking to the media.
On September 2 last year, Md Humayun Kabir, investigation officer of the case, submitted charge-sheet against 24 accused, including 14 underage ones.
Rifat's family claimed that Minni was the mastermind of the killing while her family claimed her innocent. Rifat's parents have sought highest punishment, death penalty, of the accused.
Meanwhile, Minni's father Mozammel Hossain Kishore also wants exemplary punishment of the real culprits, claiming that her daughter was innocent.
Minni's lawyer Advocate Mahbubul Bari Aslam said they have already placed all the information before the court, expressing the hope that Minni will be acquitted.
On the other hand, state counsel Advocate Mojibul Haque Kislu said the murder took place only for Minni.
