Incessant rain continue with tidal panic in port city

The sea has been rough for a few days following the formation of depression in the Bay. The meteorological office has maintained the local warning signal number 3 in Chattogram.
Light to moderate rain is falling in the city from time to time.
Even though the school-college and coaching of the students are closed, the public transport passengers going to the office and the ordinary people working on low income are suffering in the rain.
Patenga meteorologist. Shahidul Islam told  that 17.5 mm of rain was recorded in the previous 24 hours till 9 am on Tuesday (September 22). At 8 in the morning it was 14.5 millimeters.
He said the first ebb in the Karnafuli river started at 3:54 am and the tide at 10:40 am. The second ebb will start at 4:17 pm and the tide at 10:58 pm.
The tidal panic with rain has occurred in Khatunganj, Chaktai, Asadganj, Bakalia, Chandgaon, Agrabad CDA residential area, lower part of Halishahar.
There is panic among the people living at the foot of the hill.A businessman from Khatunganj told the media that the water capacity has decreased due to the filling up of Karnafuli. When low tide or Kaptai lake water is released, the lower part of the city is flooded.
When the new moon, the full moon, heavy rain and the tide come together, the knee water falls on the road.
The Chattogram Development Authority has not been able to get rid of this crisis before the implementation of mega projects to alleviate waterlogging.
