RMG worker gang-raped in Narayanganj

A garment worker was allegedly gang-raped by five unknown youths in Araihazar upazila of Narayanganj.
The victim filed a case against the rapists with Araihazar Police Station last night in this connection, said Nazrul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of the police station on Tuesday.
Quoting the case statement, OC Nazrul said the five youths intercepted the 22-year-old girl on a road in Kakail area around 8:00pm on Saturday (August 8) while she was returning to her father-in-law's house in Araihazar from her residence in Kanchpur area of Narayanganj's Sonargaon upazila.
They picked up the girl at gunpoint and raped her nearby at an isolated place, our Narayanganj correspondent reports, quoting the OC.
Hearing her screams, local people rushed to the spot and rescued her, said the OC.
The victim was sent to Narayanganj General Hospital this morning for medical test, said the police official.
The OC further said they continued their drive to arrest the accused.
