Sports Reporter :
Pacer Al-Amin Hossain and all-rounder Afif Hossain joined the individual training programme at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in the city's Mirpur and BCB-NCA ground, which is adjacent to the SBNCS on Sunday. The cricketers took part in their individual training sessions maintaining social distance. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has arranged the training programme at the different venues across the country.
Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Anamul Haque Bijoy, Imrul Kayes Sabbir Rahman and Afif Hossain did batting at the indoor and did running, stretching at the SBNCS and took part in their physical exercises at the gymnasium. Soumya Sarkar was due to join the individual practice sessions but he could not take part in the individual training programme as his bus failed to reach Dhaka in due time from Satkhira on the same day.
Sabbir Rahman said, "Covid-19 forced us to remain away from cricket but there are hopes around. The International cricket is back with West Indies, England, Pakistan already playing Test cricket."
He said, "Basically for a long time, International cricket has stopped, so as domestic cricket…the fact is Covid-19. So every player is looking for when the cricket will resume. Sometimes there is frustration but England, Pakistan and the West Indies are playing, which gives us the hope-at least the cricket game is resumed."
"Hopefully we will resume our cricket very soon, if everything remains okay and in the place. And therefore we are here to practice. We are really desperate to play and that's why we are working hard to keep up fit and well," he concluded.
Pacer Al-Amin Hossain and Mehedi Hasan Rana and Aminul Islam Biplob did running bowling at the BCB-NCA ground and participated in their physical exercise at the gymnasium.
