39 more virus deaths, 3,099 new cases

Bangladesh on Sunday detected 3,099 new coronavirus patients in 24 hours, raising the total number of infections to 1,86,894, reports UNB.
During the period the country registered 39 deaths from coronavirus which increased the total number of fatalities to 2,391.
Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure at its daily health bulletin.
The health authorities also reported 4,703 recovery cases during this period, taking the total recovery to 98,317 .
The global Covid-19 cases reached to 12,872,434 as of Monday morning, according to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University (JHU).
As per the JHU data, the global death toll from Covid-19 stands 568,296.  During the period, 7.08 million people recovered from the virus.
The first coronavirus case was detected in Wuhan, China in December last.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11.
Meanwhyile, fatality from Covid-19 climbed to 5,72,426 with total cases 1,30,74,309 while recovered 76,18,927 as of Monday morning, according to the latest report of worldometer.
The hard-hit United States reported deaths linked to the virus have been reached 1,37,795 with total cases 34,14,557.
Brazil, the second-worst hit, country counted 72,151 deaths and recorded 18,66,176 confirmed cases.
India, the country with the third highest number of infections, is battling with more than 20,000 new cases each day.
The confirmed coronavirus cases in the country reached 8,82,962 while the death 23,216 till Monday.
In terms of confirmed coronavirus cases, Russia, which is now in the fourth position, has recorded 7,33,699 confirmed cases from coronavirus, with 11,439 patients having died from the disease. Meanwhile, the government of Russia expects that the country will have at least three or four effective vaccines for the coronavirus.
Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko made the disclosure in a televised interview on the Russian channel Rossiya'24 on Thursday, reports news agency Tass.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11.
