4 arrested in Gazipur

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Saturday arrested four in a case filed for gang-raping a schoolgirl in Gazipur.
The arrested identified as Sharif Hossain, 18, Imran Hossain Sujon, 19, Sharif Uddin Molla, 20, and a 16-year-old-boy, are all from Nayanpur in Sreepur upazila.
RAB 1 Porabari Camp Commander Lt Col Abdullah Al Mamun said: "Tipped off, we arrested Sharif Hossain from Rajbari of Gazipur city. Later, we conducted drives at several places in Mymensingh and arrested the rest of the accused.
"On January 14, the girl attended a birthday party in Nayanpur, where she was served a drink spiked with sedatives. When she fell unconscious, the accused took her to an isolated place and raped her. Imran Hossain Sujon also filmed the heinous act on a mobile phone," he added.
On January 15, police arrested the girl's neighbour Urmi, 18, accused of assisting in the rape as she took her to the party on January 14 evening.
The girl was later found unconscious in front of her house around 10pm on January 14.
