Staff Reporter :
The High Court on Tuesday ordered the jail authorities concerned to produce Awlad Hossain, a programme officer of Gonoshasthaya Kendra, in the court on January 15, 2020, who is now detained in Sherpur district jail after moving four other courts in a fake warrant.
At the same time, the court ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police to find out the culprits who were involved in the process of issuing the fake warrant against Awlad Hossain.
The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman passed the order with a rule after hearing a writ petition filed in this regard by his wife Shahnaj Parveen.
The court has asked the chief judicial magistrate of Sherpur to bail him out by checking whether the arrest warrant issued by Sherpur court was correct.
It also asked the chief judicial magistrate of Sherpur to take initiatives for his release after checking other arrest warrants if issued against him beyond the Sherpur court.
In a fake warrant Awlad Hossain moved the courts of Cox's Bazar, Rajshahi, Bagerhat for bail and now he is in Sherpur jail on the same ground.  Advocate Zainul Abedin appeared in the court on behalf of the writ petitioner while deputy attorney general Amit Talukder stood for the state.
After the court order, advocate Zainul Abedin said, "If the accused get release before January 15, then he will come to the court himself, but if he can't get bail before this time then the authorities will produce him in the court."
The case documents said that police arrested Awlad Hossain, a programmme officer of Gonoshasthaya Kendra, on October 30, 2019, from Ashulia area of Dhaka in a case filed in Nari O Shisu Tribunal No-1 of Cox's Bazar.
Then he filed a bail application and upon hearing a Dhaka Court rejected his petition and ordered to send the case documents to the court of Cox's Bazar.
The Nari O Shisu Tribunal of Cox's Bazar on November 13 this year said there was no accused named Awlad Hossain. After receiving the Cox's Bazar Court order the jail authorities of Dhaka Central Jail said that they have been asked to produce Awlad Hossain before a Tribunal of Rajshahi, that court released him on November 24.
