Staff Reporter :
Tamanna Nusrat Bubly, a Member of Parliament (MP) from reserved seat-24 (Narsingdi) reportedly hired so far eight female students to give proxy examinations.
She was Awami League (AL) lawmaker and wife of former Narsingdi Municipality Mayor Lokman Hossain.
According to the affidavits, submitted by MP Bubly to the Election Commission (EC) before the 11th National Elections, she had passed Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations.
She got enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts (BA) course under the Bangladesh Open University (BOU) to heighten her educational qualifications. But she relied on cheating in the exams to pass the course.
About thirteen examinations in first four semesters under the BA course were held, but MP Bubly didn't sit for any of them. They sat for the examinations for the lawmaker in an educational institute in Narsingdi, while she is living with her family members in the capital.
The academy authorities also allowed her to do such irregularities due to her influence as a lawmaker in the locality.
