Stone lifting machinery worth Tk 75 lakh seized, destroyed in Sylhet

A task force of District Administration here in Companiganj upazila seized and destroyed stone lifting machineries worth Tk 75 lakh in a six-hour drive on Thursday.
The task force under Executive Magistrate Mahbubur Rahman led the drive from 11am to 5pm while Companiganj Police and members of Border Guard Bangladesh were present.
A number of 22 shallow machines, three bomb
machines, 20 truck-lorries, 12 drums filled with oil and 4,000 feet pipe were seized and destroyed.
A truck and two bomb machines were also seized and sent to Companiganj Police Station for filing case.
The drive against illegal stone lifting will be continued, Mahbubur Rahman said.
Md Aminul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police said all the machineries were being used for lifting stones illegally.
