A 2 day 'Pran Potatoes-DIU Marketing Fest-2019' began on Wednesday at the 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil International University (DIU). Department of Business Administration and DIU Marketing Club jointly organized the program.
Prof Dr Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of DIU inaugurated the fest as chief guest while Tarik Anam Khan, Renowned Actor and Director, KM Ali, Group CEO of Rupayan Group and Aman Ashraf Faiz, Managing Director of GTV were present as special guests.
Besides, Prof Dr Mohammed Masum Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship, Gouranga Chandra Debnath, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Business Administration also addressed in the program.
The 2 day Marketing Festival includes: Making competition, Brand building competition, marketing case competition, Business Quiz, Digital Marketing game, marketing debate etc. A Juri board consists of country's renowned marketing experts will judge the events and hand over the prizes among the winners.
Dr Yousuf Mahbubul Islam said that student should gain practical knowledge besides gathering academic knowledge. It cannot possible to be successful only depends on academic knowledge. So every student should learn a lot through practically. He also said that student can learn practically about marketing through this marketing fest.
While addressing as the special guest Tarik Anam Khan said, professional life or family life, everywhere you have to survive with skill, talent and hard working. And obviously you have to know the marketing. Without marketing you can never be successful in your life. He also said that marketing is not only the advertisement, it also includes within packaging, quality of product, design etc. Student should learn about those from their student life, he added.
KM Ali said, focus is must for exploring oneself. You have to be focused on your aim. If you can focus on your aim and do work hard only then you will be successful. In the meantime he shared his experience and said that he had been a student of literature, but he built his career in business and marketing. It could be possible only because of his aim, dedication and hard working, he added.
Aman Ashraf Faiz said that recruiter wants to know that what you have learned and how much you are interested to learning. So you should capture some skills while you are passing your student life. He also said that you can reach up to the door of job by academic degree, but can't enter into the job. You should gather practical experiences beside academic study and learning.
