Staff Reporter  :
A labour court in Dhaka on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant against Grameen Bank founder and Nobel Laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus in three cases filed on charge of sacking of three employees of Grameen Communications, the IT wing of Grameen Bank.
Labour Court-3 Chairman Robibul Islam passed  the order as Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus did not appear in the court on Wednesday despite an earlier summon order by the court.
On July 3, three employees of Grameen Communications filed three separate cases against its chairman Dr Yunus and two others with Dhaka Labour Court-3 as they were sacked from the company for their role in formation of trade union at their workplace.
The two others accused are Managing Director Naznin Sultana and Deputy General Manager Khandaker Abu Abedin. The court also granted bail to two others-Naznin Sultana and Khandaker Abu Abedin - as they appeared in the court on Wednesday and sought bail.
On July 10, the court asked the trio to appear on October 8.
