Law enforcers have arrested one person on charge of brutal attack on a local Swechchasebak League leader, who lost his left hand after being hacked and beaten mercilessly by a group of Jubo League men, in Mymensingh's Gafargaon upazila on September 5.
The victim was identified as Eliyas Noman, a local trader and executive member of Mymensingh district Swechchasebak League.
Danu Miah, the main accused in the case and local JL leader, was arrested on the day of the incident.
Anakul Sarker, Officer-in-Charge of Gaforgan Police Station, told The New Nation on Thursday that of the nine accused, one has been arrested. He said that a five- member committee has been formed led by ASP Hayder Ali to investigate the incident. " We are looking for the eight others who are involved with the attack.
