Eid-ul-Azha celebrated

The holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festivals of the Muslims, was celebrated in all  over the country on Monday with due religious fervor, gaiety, solemnity and spirit of sacrifice. Our correspondents and agencies reports:
Khulna (South) Correspondent says: Like other parts of the country, with due religious fervor, Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated in Khulna on Monday.
 The main Eid congregation was held at 8am at Khulna Town Jame Mosque as the weather was not favorable. The congregation was supposed to perform at Khulna circuit House Maidan. But due to heavy rainfall, later the place was changed.  However, Musallies gathered at all mosques in Khulna city and at nine upazila areas of Khulna district.
 Maolana Md. Abu Dawood, Pesh Imam of Khulna Town Jame Mosque and conducted the first congregation.
Like the previous years, KCC authorities gave gates at 31 wards throughout the city.
Besides, at several mosques of Khalishpur, Daulatpur and other parts of the city Eid congregations were held. At nine upazila areas of Khulna district, Eid congregations were also held as well.
Eid-ul-Azha congregations were held at Khulna Alia Madrasa,  Khanjahannagor Talimul Millat Madrasa, Baitun Nur Jame mosque, Baitullah Jame mosque at Sonadanga, Khulna University Mosque, Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), Daulatpur B.L. College mosque, Daulatpur Anjuman road Jame Mosque, All Mosques of Daulatpur Pabla and Deana areas in the city.  and at different mosques of Khalishpur area in the city. .
Sacrificial animals were sacrificed in the city and also at nine upazila areas of the district.
Eid fairs were also arranged at different parts of the city during the Eid festival.   It is mentionable in this connection that the Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated on the 10th of Zilhajj month of the Hizri calendar as Hazrat Ibrahim (AS). On the occasion, the Muslims across the country offered prayers in Eid congregations and sacrificed animals in the name of almighty Allah.
They also offered special Munajat seeking divine blessings for peace, progress and prosperity of the country as well as welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
On this day (10th day of Zilhajj),  Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) offered to sacrifice his beloved son Hazrat Ismail (AS) who willingly submitted to the will of his father to please the almighty Allah.
But the Almighty and kind Allah Ta'ala in His benign mercy spared Hazrat Ismail (AS) and instead of Hazrat Ismail (AS) sent a Dummba to be sacrificed.
For the  remembrance  this historic event, the Muslims all over the world slaughter sacrificial animals and draw inspiration from the unique example of sacrifice to please Allah as shown by two great prophets - Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS).
Bagerhat Correspondent reports: The holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second biggest and important religious ceremony of the Muslim community was celebrated in Bagerhat district town and it's all the nine Upazilas with due respect, pomp and splendor on Monday as else where of the country.
 The biggest Eid congregation was held in the historic Saitgumbaz mosque of great saint Hazrat Peer Khaja Khan Jahan Ali (peace be on him), 8 kilometers away from here. It was attended by thousand of devotees Muslims including Al-haj Dr. Mozammel Hossain, MP of Bagerhat Constituency-4 and President of Bagerhat district unit of Bangladesh Awami League and Md. Mamunur Rashid, DC, Bagerhat. Eid congregation was also held in Bagerhat Alia Madrasa premises, Bagerhat Central (old court) mosque, Mithapukur mosque, Railway Jame mosque, Nagerbazar mosque, PTI mosque, Basabati Amtala Jame mosque, Puratan bazar Jame mosque, WAPDA Jame mosque, Launchghat mosque and all other mosques of the district town. After the Eid congregation special prayer was held for peace, tranquility, integrity and prosperity of the country which should be free from militancy, terrorism, communalism and drug. Prayer was also held for the welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
Gouripur( Mymensingh) Correspondnet says:  Eid-ul-Azha, the second biggest religious festival of the Muslim Ummah, was celebrated with due rituals, sacrifice and solemnity. across  Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh district on Monday.
During this three-day festival, Muslims were mandated to slaughter designated animals such as sheep, goat, cows, and camels - depending on the availability and cultural norms of the region.
This 'sacrifice is carried out in commemoration of Prophet Ebrahim's readiness to sacrifice his son to show obedience to Allah.  Meanwhile, many people from different places came to their village homes to celebrate the festival with their near endear ones.
 The stage was almost set for smooth holding of Eid prayers in the town of Gouripur and elsewhere. The main Eid congregation  was held at Khelar Mathh Eidgah Maidan near the Gouripur Stadium around 9:01 am and  the second largest congregation in the town  was held at Islamabad Madrasha's playing ground at 9.10 am being looked after by Gouripur Pourashava.
 Meanwhile, many people from different places came to their village homes to celebrate the festival with their near endear ones.
 Important public houses, thoroughfares and road sides of the town were decorated with national flags, gates and banners inscribed with 'Eid Mubarak'.  Leaders of different political and socio cultural organisations in their messages greeted the people.
Besides, on Sunday morning about 2 hundred Muslims who are followers to the Sureshuri Mazar at Shariatpur, celebrated their Eid under the leadership of  Pir Syed Shahnur Abtab Parvez Nuri at village Bahadurpur of this upazila.
BSS from Rajshahi reports:  The holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival for the Muslim population, was celebrated here with due fervour, joy, enthusiasm, gaiety and solemnity on Monday.
In the Eid Day morning, streams of people rushed to the nearest eidgahs, mosques and open places to offer their Eid prayers. Thousands of musallis at the end of Eidjamaats (congregations) offered special munajats seeking divine blessings and eternal peace of departed souls particularly their near and dear ones, continued peace, progress, and prosperity of the country as well as greater welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
The main Eid-ul-Azha jamaat (congregation) of Rajshahi city was held at Hazrat Shah Mukhdum (R) Central Eidgah at 8.00am. Muhtamim of Jameya Islamia Shahmukhdum Maulana Shahadat Ali conducted the Eid prayers.
Mayor of Rajshahi AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, Dr Monsur Rahman, MP, senior divisional and district level officials including Divisional Commissioner Njur-Ur-Rahman and Deputy Commissioner Hamidul Haque and other local elites offered their prayers at the main Eid jamaat.
The second and third largest congregations were held at Shaheb Bazar Zero Point and Tikapara Eidgah at the same time.
Some other big Eid jamaats in the city were held at Rajshahi University, RUET campus, Hatemkha, Stadium Ground, Shalbagan, Alif Lam Meem Bhata Eidgah, Police Line Parade Ground, Mohisbathan Eidgah Math and Upashahar Eidgah Moidan.
After the Eid congregations, the Muslim devotees sacrificed their beloved beasts in the name of Almighty Allah.
Around 150 other Eid-ul-Azha jamaats were held at traditional and temporary venues in Rajshahi metropolis.
Improved diets were served to the inmates of different hospitals, jails, ShishuParibars, orphanages and vagrant welfare centres in all districts on the occasion.
Thousands of people, especially children, poured in and around the city's parks, historic places and other recreation centres including the bank of the river Padma to enjoy the Eid. Zia Shishu Park, Captain Monsur Ali Park and Central Park and Zoo drew huge crowd.
BSS from  Gaibandha reports: The holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festivals of the Muslims, was celebrated in all the seven upazilas in the district on Monday with due religious fervor, gaiety and solemnity and spirit of sacrifice.
In the morning, streams of people including the young, old and children rushed to the nearest eidgahs, mosques and selected open places and offered their Eid-prayers.
The main Eid congregation was held at Central Eidgah Maidan, near to Shah Abdul Hamid Stadium of the town here at the arrangement of the district administration.
Additional deputy commissioner (General) Alamgir Kabir Saikat, Nezarat deputy collector M. Shahidul Islam, district level officials, leaders of political parties, elite of the town, professionals and journalists joined the congregation with the festive mood.
Earlier, deputy commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin received the Musillis and exchanged Eid greetings with them at the gate of the Eidga Maidan on behalf of the district administration.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Abdul Matin the officials of district administration were working relentlessly to push forward the district towards desired development and sought their cordial cooperation to attain the cherished goal.
BSS from Rangpur adds: The Muslims completed three-day celebrations of their second largest religious festival Eid-ul-Azha on Monday with due religious fervour and solemnity and sacrificing animals in all the eights of Rangpur division.
The district and police administrations, law enforcement agencies, authorities of municipalities and other organisations took adequate steps and security measures to ensure peaceful celebrations of the festivity.
Officials in the district administrations said the national flag was hoisted atop all government and private buildings and mosques, Eidgahs, streets and major buildings decorated with colourful miniature flags and banners inscribed with Eid Mubarak.
In Rangpur city, the district administration, Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP), Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) and law enforcement agencies took ample steps and security measures to ensure peaceful celebrations of the festivity.
Talking to BSS today, Assistant Director of Islamic Foundation Md Shamsul Haque said the Muslims participated in the Eid-ul-Azha congregations at around 1,020 Eidgahs, mosques and open places all over the district. The main Eid-ul-Azha congregation was held at the Central Collectorate Eidgah in the city at 8:30 am amid tight security measures on Monday.
Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa, Divisional Commissioner KM Tariqul Islam, Deputy Commissioner Asib Ahsan, Acting President of district Awami League Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, politicians, professionals and elite participated in the main Eid congregation.
Acting RpMP Commissioner Abu Sufian participated in the Eid-ul-Azha congregation held at RpMP Lines ground while senior officials of district police took part in the Eid congregation held at Police Lines ground in the city.
The other major Eid congregations were held at Keramotia Jam-e-Mosque, Jummapara Korimiya Nurul Ulum Madrasha ground, Nasirabad Ekramia Jam-e- Mosque, Central Bus Terminal Jam-e Mosque, Kamal Kachhna Baro Jam-e-Mosque, Munshipara Eidgah, RCCI School and College ground and Carmichael College ground between 8:30 am and 9:30 am in the city in the city.
Outside the divisional city, bigger Eid congregations were held at Taluk Habu Eidgah Maidan in Gangachara upazila, Badarganj Central Eidgah, Pirgachha Karbala Eidgah, Pirgachha JN High School, Kawnia Central Eidgah, Mithapukur Central Eidgah, Taraganj Chowpathi Eidgah and Pirganj Central Eidgah.
Besides, hundreds of Eid-ul-Azha congregations were held on the Eidgahs, mosques and grounds in the rural areas in all the eight upazilas and three municipal towns between 8am and 10:30 am in the district amid tight security measures on Monday.
The Muslim devotes offered special munajats seeking divine blessings to get relived from dengu outbreak across the country and eternal peace of the departed souls of their nearer ones and continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country and its people.
According to reports received here, the Eid-ul- Azha festivity was celebrated peacefully in other seven districts of Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Gaibandha, Lalmonirhat and Kurigram districts of  Rangpur division.
