JnU Correspondent  :
A two-day photography exhibition has been concluded recently at the Jagannath  University (JnU) campus followed by an award ceremony for best three photos .
With the theme "Old Dhaka and Jagannath University" Jagannath University photographic Society (JnUPS) organised the exhibition for the fourth consecutive time at the ground floor of New Building of the university.
The impulse to save recorded memories is a powerful force which tells much about the role of photography in lives and constant desire to distil most precious moments into images. In this regard, Jagannath University Photographic Society (JnUPS) arranged the fourth consecutive season of "Inter-dept Photography Contest & Exhibition".
Earlier on Tuesday, Prof Dr Mizanur Rahman, Vice-chancellor of JnU inaugurated the exhibition around 11:00am on July 30. A total of 61 selected photographs of 41 photographers were exhibited among 357photographs which were submitted for the contest. The photo exhibition was started July 30 and continued until July31.
One of the Participants of the contest,  Md Mustafizur Rahman said that every year authorities should arrange such programme, cultural practice through such exhibition immensely needed for university students. Upon entering the exhibition, anyone could see the photo frames fairly organised against the white-washed walls. Each photo interpreted a aesthetic story of not only the subject of the image, but also of the photographer.
The exhibition ended yesterday through an award ceremony. Chief adviser of JnUPS Associate Professor Din Islam handed over the awards to the winner - Hashibur Rahman of Micro Biology Department, 1st runner up - Niaj Mahmud Sajib of Finance Department and 2ndrunner up -Rijvi Hasan Nadim of Psychology Department.
"Jagannath University Photographic Society - JnUPS has started its operation back in 2013 and I am privileged to be a part of it since the very beginning. Photography talks about existence and the movements of life and creation, I think such exhibition would give all excitement, people would enjoy it extremely by the unconditional constant effort of the whole JnUPS team", said  Ashikur Rahman, president of JnUPS.
