DIU organises Reading Competition
Renowned writer Anwara Syed Haq handing over the Champion Award of 'DIU Reading Competition' to Ismat Jahan Nabila - a student of Electrical & Electronic Engineering Department of DIU at DIU Campus on Wednesday.

'Grand Final of DIU Reading Competition & Inauguration of DIU Reader's Club' were held on Wednesday at Banquet Hall of Daffodil International University (DIU).
Ismat Jahan Nabila, student of Electrical & Electronic Engineering Department became champion while Tanzina Akther Trisha, student of Pharmacy Department became 1st runner up and Ikteder Islam, student of English Department became 2nd runner up in this competition.
Renowned writer Anwara Syed Haq was present as the chief guest at the program and distributed prizes among the winners while Prof AMM Hamidur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, DIU was the special guest. Presided over by Prof Dr Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of DIU, the program was addressed by Prof Dr Golam Mowla Choudhury, Controller of Examination, Dr Milan Khan, Librarian, Md. Rakibul Hasan Khan, Associate Professor and Head, Department of English of DIU.
After distributing prizes, the guests formally inaugurated the DIU Reader's Club where Farzana Yasmin, Lecturer, Department of English has been elected as the moderator of the club.
While addressing among the students as the chief guest Professor Anwara Syed Haq said that you have no alternative of reading. You have to read various type of books to sharp and explore your knowledge.
You have to read not only the text books, but also read fiction and nonfictions. Your reading habit will make you skilled on language, writing, thinking, making question etc. So, you must have to read a lot. She added.
It may be mentioned that the competition was started in last year and after completing 6 rounds, the final round was held today where 6 contestants qualified for the final. . A total of 45 contestants took part in the competition.
