Fagun Haway to open Rainbow Film Festival in London

The Rainbow Film Festival is once again set to be held in London next week. This year's festival will be the 20th edition of the event, which is going to be organized differently from previous ones. The opening ceremony will be held on today  at the Genesis Cinema hall on London's Mile End Rd.
Following the opening ceremony, Tauquir Ahmed-directed Impress Telefilm production, Fagun Haway, will be screened. The film, set in the time of the historical Language Movement of Bangladesh, stars Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Siam Ahmed, Abul Hayat, Fazlur Rahman Babu, and many others.
The week-long festival, which will screen many Bangladeshi films, will also feature film seminars, and children's films.
The festival will continue from July 21-28 in a festive environment at Rich Mix Centre, Brady Arts Centre, Saint George Church of Gun Hill, and Genesis Cinema. All the films will have English subtitles and the screenings are going to be free. At the initiative of film-maker and Head of Rainbow Film Festival Mustafa Kamal, the first Rainbow Film Festival was held in London in 2000. Films from Iran, Turkey, Jordan, Denmark, Norway, UK, Greece, Pakistan, Canada, Kyrgyzstan, USA and Bulgaria will be screened at the festival, alongside Bangladeshi films.
Films of the 20th edition
The following films will be screened from each country:
Bangladesh: Fagun Haway, Alta Banu, SeeYou, Komola Rocket, Sonatan Golpo, Amar Jonmobhumi, To Be Continued, Juddhota Chhilo Shadinotar, Mitha's Dream, Glimpse of Dhaka, Jibon O Jibika, Nona Joler Meyeti, and Odekha Dash.
India: Ashukhwala, Rong Beronger Kori, Uma, Ek Je Chhilo Raja, Pupa, Bhoy, Aangrezi me Kehte, and Bhagera.
The other films to be screened at the festival are Iranian films Azar and Video Check, Norway's Cometen, Bulgaria's Timmy, and Kyrgyzstan's Ozok. Turkey and Jordan's joint production The Guest, Denmark-Greece-UK production A Drowning Man, Pakistan and Sweden's joint production Dust To Dust, and USA-UK joint production Salam, will also be screened at the festival.
