National Fisheries Week begins in Sylhet

Celebration of National Fisheries Week-2019 began in  Sylhet district on Thursday as elsewhere in the country. Marking the Week, Sylhet Department of Fisheries chalked out elaborate programmes that will be held till July 23.
In the morning, a big colourful rally led by Acting Divisional Commissioner Tahmidul Islam was brought out from DC Office  and ended at Zilla Parishad campus after parading the main roads of the city. Later, a discussion meeting was held at the auditorium of Zila Parisad with Acting Deputy Commissioner Mir Md. Mahbubur Rahman in the chair. Acting Divisional Commissioner of Sylhet Tahmidul Islam addressed the meeting as Chief Guest, SMP Commissioner Gulam Kibria, Police Supar Nurul Islam, journalist Aftab Chowdhury, Rtn. M.A Rahim, Susendro Chandor Nomo Khukon also spoke the programme as special guest.
The meeting was also addressed, among others, by District Fisheries Officer Abul Kalam Azad.
