Marginal poultry farmers demand subsidy, withdrawal of VAT
Owners of small and marginal poultry firms on Tuesday in front of Ashwini Kumar Hall in the city formed human chain to press home their five-point demands.
The five-point demands of poultry traders included fair price and withdrawal of VAT from poultry and pisciculture feeds and government subsidy for this sector.
Bahalul Kabir Khan, poultry trader, presided over the programme and addressed among others by Nurul Islam, Shahidul Islam, Zakir Alam, and Abul Kalam Azad.
Rapidly flourished poultry and pisciculture business in the country not only filling the demand of supplying protein for the citizen, but also playing a vital role in self employment of educated and marginal people, the speakers of the programme told.
So they called the government assistance for making this sector sustainable.
