90,000 cases filed against BNP men in 10yrs

BNP lawmaker Md Harunur Rashid on Tuesday demanded the Speaker to form a parliamentary committee over ghost cases. "The Home Minister said there is nothing called ghost cases ... I request the Speaker to form a parliamentary committee over it," Rashid said participating in general discussion on the proposed budget for 2019-20 fiscal year in Parliament. The Chapainawabganj-3 MP claimed that at least 90,000 cases were filed against BNP leaders and activists in the last 10 year. "Most of them are false cases. Some 2.5 million BNP leaders and activists were accused in them," he said. Rashid said BNP men were picked

up from their houses and implicated in cases. He said the BNP secretary general is facing charges in 84 cases, while 84-year-old former Speaker Jamir Uddin Sircar, senior BNP leaders Khandkar Mahbub Hossain and Moudud Ahmed are facing charges of making bombs and sabotage.
