UNB, Thakurgaon :
A police complaint was filed Tuesday over the stealing of a truck carrying 21 tonnes of rice from Baliadangi upazila last week.
According to the complaint, trader Mizanur Rahman purchased 700 sacks of rice from a mill in Baliadangi on June 21.
He sent the rice-laden truck to Bhulli warehouse in the Sadar upazila.
The workers did not unload the rice at the warehouse because of a doa mahfil there.
The truck was kept at a refueling station near the warehouse. On June 23, the truck driver's assistant went to the site but could not find the truck.
The goods were worth about Tk 7.56 lakh while the truck had a price of Tk 30 lakh.
Sub-Inspector Golam Martuza of Sadar Police Station said they are trying to recover the truck.
