Motivated England notched up a huge 397 for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 50 overs against minnows Afghanistan in their match of the ICC World Cup Cricket at Old Trafford in Manchester, England on Tuesday.
In reply, Afghanistan scored 122 for the loss of three wickets in 29 overs  before submitting this report.
Skipper of England team Eoin Morgan hit a resounding 148. His 71-ball innings was ornamented with 17 sixes and four fours. It was a world record for a batsman, who struck record 17 sixes in an ODI match.
Jonny Bairstow made 90 from 99 balls featuring eight fours and three sixes, while Joe Root scored 88 off 82 balls with five fours and a sixer.
Moeen Ali hit a quick-fire 31 from nine balls including four sixes and a four.
Gulbadin Naib and Dawlat Zadran got three wickets each conceding 68 and 85 runs respectively.
