Arrest of Nayon's killers demanded

Locals, family members and villagers of Wazirpur and Babuganj Upazilas blocked  Barishal- Dhaka  Highway at Joyosree point under  Wazirpur upazila for an hour on Monday noon demanding arrest of  killer of teenaged Israfil Haoladar Nayon, 16, a tenth grade student of Anath Bandhu high school of Bamrail union under Wazirpur Upazila. The agitated people organised a human chain and rally blocking the Dhaka- Barishal Highway from 10.15 to 11.15 am Monday.  A large number of vehicles became stranded on both sides of the Highway blocking points due to this protest programme.
Shishir Kumar Pal, officer in charge of Wazirpur police station said locals, and students of Anath Bandhu High School of the Upazila and their guardians gathered on the highway blocking regular transport movements at around 10:15am, carrying banners and placards demanding immediate arrest, speedy trial and capital punishment of the killers of Nayon.
 Later by initiatives of the local elites and police officials assuring to fulfill their demands, convinced the protestors to end highway blocked programme. Normal movements of the roads transports regularized after 11:30 AM, police sources said. Sobahan  Howladar father of the victim said his son Nayon Haoladar, 16, was abducted on way to school on April 27, 2019.
