BEPZA economic zone is being established on 1,150 acres of land at Mirsarai. Upazila of North Chattogram at coastal  line of the Bay . Some 618 industrial plots will be developed there for investors  where 350 industrial units will be  installed  in first phase.  The development  work of these industrial plots  is progressing fast," Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) General Manager(PR) Nazma Binte Alamgir told  media persons  recently. .She said construction of  surrounding dike  embankment of  the project has almost  been completed as part of the first phase work, construction of one of the two proposed connecting roads is going  in full swing  and land development of the project has also started. Nazma said it would be possible to set up 300-350 industrial units in these 618 industrial plots. She hoped  after  commissioning of the MEZ , the intending  investors will be provided plots as per their  requirements in that economic zone;. As a part of first phase works of MEZ, the surrounding embankment   (dike embankment)  construction works nearing completion and  the constructions of super dike embankment  for protection of whole zone areas is progressing fast .
