Agri census begins in Khagrachhari

The agricultural census  started in Khagrachhari yesterday to collect latest information on the crops, fisheries and livestock resources.
 On this occasion, a colorful rally was exposed from in front of the district administration office on Sunday morning.
The rally is jointly organized by District Administration and District Statistics Office. The rally ended in the municipal town hall premises after carried out the main road of district town.
Deputy Commissioner of Khagrachhari Hill District Shahidul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Habibullah and Deputy Director of District Statistics office HM Wahiduzzaman took part in the rally.
The census will continue until June 20, according to Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics.
It is being conducted as per the guideline of World Programme for the Census of Agriculture-2020 (WCA 2020) of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
Earlier, in 2008, agricultural data was collected in all the cities and rural areas of the country.
