Concept of indulgent lifestyle

  • Print
A recent Facebook post caught my attention. The colourful illustration that popped up was clear in its intent, and divided into four parts. The first showed the image of a container with the label 'Exfoliating facial scrub' - 'now with microbeads,' below it. The second image showed a pair of hands rinsing off the lather at the sink presumably after the product was used. This meant the microbeads were moving from the person's body to the outlet of the sink. The third image showed the ends of a drainpipe releasing the particles into the waters, while an unsuspecting fish swam right next to it. The final image was of a plate serving the same poor fish. It is said that life comes full circle.
The point to be noted is that, we are all victims of the concept of an indulgent lifestyle. Will we ever be able to serve a plateful of food that is fresh, clean?
