'Mental Hai Kya' faces legal trouble

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut always has managed to find her way to the headlines and this time, it is because of her upcoming film Mental Hai Kya. A report in a leading daily has claimed that the Indian Psychiatric Society has wrote to the makers of the film and demanded that the title be changed as it is discriminating towards people facing mental health issues.
The report stated that the members of the Indian Psychiatric Society has also written to Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairman Prasoon Joshi on the issue. The organisation claims that the film's title seems to be a derogatory remark towards those suffering from mental health problems and can prove to be offensive for someone suffering through a mental issue. Not only the title, committee also want to make sure that the makers remove any casual remark made towards being mental in the film. While we might be aware of the fact that the makers may not have named the film to intentionally poke at someone's mental health issues, we do understand the concern about the same from the Indian Psychiatric Society.
Mental Hai Kya? also stars Rajkummar Rao and is directed by Prakash Kovelamudi. The film will hit theatres on June 21.
