DNCC Mayor joins EWU cleanliness campaign

East West University (EWU) organized a special cleanliness campaign at Aftabnagar area in the city. Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md. Atiqul Islam and local Parliament Member, AKM Rahmatullah MP inaugurated the program on Tuesday.
The Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, EWU, and former Adviser of the Caretaker Government of Bangladesh, Syed Manzur Elahi, the Chief Adviser of EWU and former Governor of Bangladesh Bank, Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr MM Shahidul Hassan, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Fakrul Alam, senior officials, faculty members and students of the university participated in the cleanliness program.
Prominent singers, Khairul Anam Shakil and Roquaiya Hasina Neely, and reputed actor, Khairul Alam Sabuj, also attended the cleanliness campaign with EWU students.
A short briefing session was also held on the occasion. DNCC Mayor, Md. Atiqul Islam addressed the gathering and reminded everyone that keeping the city clean was a collective responsibility.
The capital city Dhaka could become very attractive and livable with everyone's participation and such campaigns were thus needed.
He urged all citizens to keep the city clean and lead healthy lives. He declared that very soon a city app will be introduced to record citizens' allegations and also a foot overbridge would be built in Pragati Sarani near the East West University for pedestrians.
