DIU distributes free laptops
Prof Dr Syed Akhter Hossain, Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering of Daffodil International University handing over a laptop to a student at Free Laptop Distribution Ceremony held at the University on Monday.

Daffodil International University (DIU) in association with Daffodil Computers Ltd distributed 1500 DCL C483 Model Laptop among the students under" One Student-One Laptop" project on Monday at 71Milonayoton of the university. Prof Dr Syed Akhter Hossain, Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) was the chief guest at the Laptop Distribution Ceremony while Dr Touhid Bhuiyan, Head, Department of Software Engineering was present as the special guest and handed over the laptops to the students.
Prof Dr Yousuf M Islam, Vice Chancellor, DIU presided over the function. The function was addressed by Prof Dr SM Mahabub Ul Haque Majumder, Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Engr AKM Fazlul Hoque, Registrar, Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director, Students Affairs of the university.
Before distributing the laptops, Hamidul Haque Khan, Treasurer of the university conducted the oath taking part of the ceremony where the students swore upon regarding the best use of the laptops in academic and education purpose. The whole program was conducted by Uchchhas Tousif and Sabiha Islam, two students of Daffodil International University.
Prof Dr Syed Akhter Hossain said that laptop is not only a machine, it 's also a tool of power. This power belongs to you from now. But, abuse of technology never can bring good things. So, every student should skilled up themselves through proper use of this laptop.
Prof Dr Syed Akhter Hossain showed an old laptop and said to the students, this laptop with me science 1996 which brought lots of achievement in my career. You the students also can reform your life through this DCL laptop which you have got today.
Dr Touhid Bhuiyan said that every technology has good use and bad use. I believe that the students of Daffodil University do not use technology badly.
