Five more killed in road crashes

At least five more people, including two students were killed and 15 others seriously injured in separate road accidents across the country on Monday.
In Dhaka, a youth named Nurul Islam Shanto, 30, was killed when a passenger bus rammed into his motorcycle in Shewrapara area under Mirpur Police Station in the city on Monday.
The deceased Nurul Islam was a motor mechanic in profession and inhabitant of Mogbazar area.
Local sources said that a bus of 'Tetulia Paribahan' rammed into a motorcycle and ran over its biker, leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College & Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
However, police seized the bus and detained its driver Saiful Islam, reports a Bangla online portal.
Mirpur Model Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Dadon Fakir confirmed the matter.
In Chittagong, at least two persons including a University student and a bus worker were killed in separate road crashes in the port city of Chattogram on Monday.
At Chandgaon, a bus helper named Sakib, 18, son of one Belal of Hatiya upazila  in Noakhali district, was killed when he fell from his bus accidentally at Chandgaon Residential area in the city around 9:30 pm.
At Patenga, a student of Chattogram University was killed and her friend was seriously injured when a private car ploughed through a road divider after its driver lost control over steering in Patenga Boat Club area around 12 pm.
The deceased was identified as Zarine Zahan, 20,  .
and daughter of one Abu Kalam.
Injured Iftekhar Ahmed was taken to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital.

In Chuadanga, a minor girl named Jui Khatun, 8, was killed when a truck rammed her in Jibonnagar upazila of the district on Monday morning.
The deceased was the daughter of one Jashim Uddin and student of third grader of a Primary School.
Sheikh Gani Miah, Officer in-Charge of Jibonnagar Police confirmed the matter to media.
In Gaibandha, at least seven more persons were critically injured in a road accident when a truck hit a passenger bus in Polashbari upazila of the district early Monday.
Badol, Sub Inspector of Polashbari Police said.
