Revolutionary changes to be made thru' cooperatives: Tazul

LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Md Tazul Islam said it is possible to bring a revolutionary change in social life through cooperatives.
"Cooperatives system can integrate a large number of population in economic activities as currently around 1.8 crore people are involved with 1.76 lac cooperatives society in the country," he said this on Thursday while speaking at a view-exchange meeting with Cooperatives Department officials at Samabay Bhaban at Agargaon here.
State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Swapan Bhattacharjee, Rural Development and Cooperatives Division Secretary Md Kamal Uddin Talukder, Registrar and Director General Md. Abdul Majid, among others, attended the meeting.
Tajul urged all to remain alert about misuse of cooperative system in the name of multipurpose cooperatives society.
Later, the minister inaugurated the Bangabandhu Corner in Cooperatives Department.
