12 more killed in road crashes

At least 12 more persons were killed and 70 others critically injured in separate road crashes across the country on Wednesday.
In Sirajganj, at least three persons were killed and 15 others seriously injured in a head-on collision between two buses of Hanif Paribahan on the western link road of Bangabandhu Bridge of the district.
The accident occurred in Saydabad area at 4:30pm on Wednesday afternoon. The victims could not be identified instantly.
Md Abdul Hamid, Assistant Director of Sirajganj Fire Service and Civil Defense said that a North Bengal-bound bus of Hanif Paribahan collided head- on with a Dhaka-bound bus of same transport group, killing a person on the spot and injuring 20 others, who were sent to Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital where two more persons succumbed to their injuries.
In Natore, two persons were killed and 20 more injured in a pickup van incident under Boraigram upazila of the district.
The accident took place at Kandail of the upazila early Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Jorip Ali, 23, and Roni Ahmed, 20, from Gurudaspur upazila.
Shamsul Islam, Sub-Inspector of Boraigram Police confirmed the news to media.
In CoxBazar, two persons were killed and five others injured in a road accident in Moheskhali upazila of the district.
The deceased were identified as Md. Shekab Uddin, 30, and Md.Mamun,22, from Matarbari area.
In Rangamati, at least two persons were killed in a road accident in Kaptai upazila of the district Thursday night.
The deceased were identified as Md.Kabir, 32, and Jahangir, 55.
 In Gopalaganj, a woman was killed and two others were injured in a road accident in Sadar upazila of Gopalaganj on Wednesday noon.
Deceased Mahfuza Begum, 26, wife of Shahidul Hawlader, was a resident of Ujirpur upazila in Barishal.
Md Monirul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station said.
In Gaibandha, a school girl named Sumi Akther, 14, was killed when a truck rammed him in Sundarganj upazila of the district.
SM Abdus Sobahan, Officer in-Charge of Sundorganj Police confirmed the matter to media.
In Gajipur, a deed Writer named Shahedul Islam, 40, was killed in a road crash at Baligaon of the Kaliganj upazila of the district.
