The dead body of a 2.5 months old baby named Abdullah, son of one Sohag Howlader of village Bisharighata under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district who was kidnapped by the miscreants from its parents' residence in the early hours of March 11 was recovered by the Police from a safe tic tank of the kidnapper's house in the village Nishanbaria under the same Upazila on  Sunday at noon. It was confirmed by AKM Azizul Islam, Officer-in-charge of Morrelganj PS.
It is learnt from the police that in the early hours when the ill-fated baby was sleeping with its mother the miscreants entered the house after breaking open its window and kidnapped the baby while the parents were also sleeping. By the mean time the gang leader of the kidnappers demanded a sum of Tk.10 lakh as ransom of the baby over the mobile phone. Then the father made a complaint with Morrelganj PS in connection with incident. Police identified the ring leader of the kidnappers as one Hridoy Chaprasi (22), son of one Moazzem Chaprasi of village Nishanbaria (under ther Upazila) through tracking the mobile phone. On March 13 police raided the village house of Hridoy. But he was found absconding. Then the police arrested his mother and sister for interrogation. A contingent of PBI (Police Bureau of Investigation) arrested Hridoy from Dhaka on Saturday and according to his statement, police recovered the dead body of the baby from the safe tic tank of Hridoy's village residence on March 17 at noon.
