Salt loaded trawler sinks in Ghosiakhali Channel

A salt loaded trawler was sank in Mongla-Ghosiakhli Channel at 2pm recently.
It was carrying 5500monds of salt and was going to Khulna. It is known from BIWTA and local people that M.V.Rashid-1 Khulna bound Cargo Ship hit the trawler and it sank near Bogura Ghat of the Channel.
Joint Director of BIWTA Khulna S.M. Sanowar Hossain has confirmed the news . He told that after getting news of the accident , he quickly sent the representatives of BIWTA on the spot and marking and lighting the area to avoid further accident. He also told that as the trawler sank near the brink of the channel, no problem arise to move the vehicles in Channel. He expects that within short day, the trawler will be removed from the Channel.
