Minor girl killed after rape in N'ganj

A seven-year old girl has been murdered after rape in Rasulbagh of Siddhirganj upazila in Narayanganj district.
The deceased was identified as Tanjil, daughter of one Anwar Miah, from Sultanpur village in Sadar upazila of Jashore district.
Anwar lived in a rented room of a house of one Alam Khan in the area, reports media.
Family sources said, Tanjil went missing on Wednesday evening. Failing to trace her whereabouts, the victim's father filed a general diary (GD) with Siddhirganj Police Station.
Anwar, along with locals, resumed their search for the girl on Thursday. Later, they found Tanjil's body inside a storeroom of the house in the afternoon.
After receiving the information, police recovered the body and sent it to Narayanganj General   
Hospital for autopsy, Siddhirganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahin Shah Parvez said.
Tanjil might have been strangled after the rape, he added.
"The body bore several injury marks," the OC concluded.
