Six govt offices in Khagrachchari vow to fight corruption

A Correspondent,  Khagrachari :
Six heads of six offices in the district vowed to keep their office corruption free and to work for ensuring transparency at their offices through implementing Information Act to achieve the goal of making Bangladesh a developed country by 2041.
They vowed it at a discussion jointly organised by District Administration, District Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and Transparency International of Bangladesh (TIB) at Khagrachhari Muktamancha on Sunday morning.
DC Md Shahidul Islam said he would not tolerate any corruption in his office and is trying his level best to keep it service friendly.
District administration would always for the development of country, he said.
Superintendent of Police Md Ahmar Uzzaman said he has been serving at the ACC head office before joining his present post and vowed to keep his office corruption free.
He urged people to assist police to identifying irregularities, illegal trade, bribes and anti-law activities.
'We can remove corruption if we work together, he added.
District Civil Surgeon Dr. Shah Alam said Health Department has been working with transparency, and the process would be continued until the government's vision is implemented by 2041.
Kkagrachari Municipality Mayor Md Rafiqul Alam said his office is already declared corruption free and no one will  be involved in corruption in future. Stern action would be taken against corrupted officials or staff if any complain is found true, he added.
District Social Welfare Officer Mohammad Monirul Islam, Executive Officer of CHT Refugee Affairs Taskforce Md Rashedul Hoque also vowed to keep their own offices corruption free.
Assistant Director of the ACC Sayed Nazrul Islam welcome the declaration announced by six top officials of six government organisation and said gradually all government offices would come under Anti-Corruption flag to make country corruption free.
Among others, President of District ACC Sudarshan Dutta, TIB Area Manager Mohammad Asaduzzaman, and President of Sachetan Nagorik Committee Bodhi Satya Dewan also spoke.
Earlier, hundreds of people formed a human chain  carrying posters, banners, and placards chanting different anti-corruption related slogans at Muktamancha area in the hill town on Sunday morning.
