Researcher and Writer Syed Abul Maksud said that candidacy rejection for minor mistakes exposes that it will be hard for the oppositions to stay in the polls
He said, it in an interview with a national daily on Wednesday.
He said, nearly all political parties are participating in the national polls. This is very positive.
"It is the liabilities of the EC to create level playing field for all so that every party can participate in the polls without any obstacle," he said.
"But the EC could not do their duties properly. Many candidates have been sidelined for minor mistakes. It does not prove their neutrality," Syed Abul Maksud said.
In addition, opposition leaders and activists are acutely suffering from huge cases filed against them.  Besides, nomination papers of the opposition candidates being rejected.  Polls campaigns for them have become cumbersome.
The campaigning is a major part of the election.
It appeared that the total environment is against of the BNP.
Replying to a query, Abul Maksud said, that participation in polls forging alliance is not unusual.  "Election with alliance is not surprising. You see in Malaysia and India, parties are participating in election forming alliances," he said.
