A rally marking the Mass Engineering Day-2018 and the 48th founding anniversary of the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh organised by IDEB Central Executive Committee was held in the city on Friday. Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon was present in the programme as the chief guest. While speaking Menon said BNP has been defeated in the recent dialogue with 14-party alliance led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressing hope that the party would be defeated in the upcoming election. "BNP was finding ways for waging movement in the name of calling for dialogue riding on the shoulder of the Jatiya Oikyafront. They thought that Prime Minister would have not responded to their call for dialogue. But the premier responded to their call and accepted their demands," he said. The function was also addressed, among others, by General Secretary of Dhaka City South unit of Awami League Shahe Alam Murad and Councilor of 20 no. ward of DSCC Farid Uddin Ratan.  President of the committee AKM Hamid presided over the event.
