Father arrested for killing daughter at Barishal

Father Kazi Golam Mustafa arrested for killing daughter Sabiha Aktar Athoi, 08, a student of class three at local primary school at Sapania area under Kawnia Police Station   of the city.
Mosharraf Hossain, Barishal Metropolitan Police Commissioner holding a press briefing at his office on Wednesday afternoon, said the killing was planned to avoid and accuse neighbors who lend money to father of Athoi, police said.
Anwar Hossain, Officer in Charge of Kawnia Police Station said, mother of the victim Sheuli Begum Ruma lodged a case against unnamed accused in connection of killing her daughter on Tuesday afternoon.
After primary investigation police detained Golam Mustafa, father of Athoi, Barishal City Corporation staffs of water works department and started interrogation in connection of death of his daughter.
During the interrogation father on early Wednesday confessed that he strangled his daughter Athoi to death by tying rope on neck after taking her to an abandoned pump house in Sadar Road area of the city.
In confession, the accused killer father told the police that, he borrowed around taka 10 lakhs, from his neighbor Rana and Sohel in different times.
On Tuesday morning, preparing a story of calling daughter from school, Mustafa taking Athoi to an abandoned pump house of the city strangled her to death for blaming the lenders for killing.
He covering the dead body of Athoi with a cloth threw that to a lemon garden of the area near his home.
The accused killer father sent to jail after producing before the court and would be placed soon before the court for recording his confessional statement, the police sources told.
Mentionable dead body of Athoi, 08, daughter of Kazi Golam Mustafa and student of class three at Sapania government primary school was recovered from a lemon garden of the area on Tuesday morning.
