6th Convocation of Uttara University held
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, MP addressing at the 6th Convocation-2018 of Uttara University held at Nobo Ratri Hall, Bashundhara Convention Center-04 on Tuesday.

"Uttara University has been able to prove that it is not only a center of receiving quality education but also a place of bringing out the changes of social and economic trends. Only this type of university can create the platform for students to prove their potentiality in a certain period of time. Uttara University has relentlessly been providing this service since its foundation", said Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, MP. Nahid spoke as the chief guest of 6th Convocation-2018 of Uttara University held at Nobo Ratri Hall, Bashundhara Convention Center-04 on Tuesday.
Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission (UGC), Bangladesh was there as the Convocation Speaker. Prof Dr M Azizur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of Uttara University welcomed the distinguished guests, participants and the graduate students in particular. Prof Dr Eaysmin Ara Lekha, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Uttara University expressed her wholehearted thanks towards the participants of the program in her thanksgiving speech.
Kazi Mahiuddin, Registrar, Uttara University also extended his heartiest thanks to the participants of this 6th Convocation-2018.
Education Minister said, "We want to create skilled manpower for our country. In this regards, we need to create new knowledge and ideas along with skilled manpower. As a part of UU's progress, Uttara University has already been able to arrange some international seminars, set up research cells, and publish research journals regularly. Uttara University has also been arranging workshops and trainings to motivate faculties conducting more researches. I welcome Uttara University for their initiatives to intensify the research activities and I also hope that through creating new knowledge, Uttara University will contribute nationally and internationally by providing skilled manpower".
UGC Chairman Abdul Mannan as Convocation Speaker said, "Convocation is a very important and blessed program for the student because through this program, students get their formal recognition as graduates who will encourage them to grow self-confidence. This is the turning point students' life. I believe that Uttara University has played an important role to make students confident to choose their right profession and they have got proper training about how they will become successful in life. I think the students of this university will not only enlighten themselves, they will be remarkable for their outstanding contribution in developing our society as well as our country". Prof Dr M. Azizur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of Uttara University said, "Educated people are the national treasure of a country and without quality education; it is not possible to create these national treasures. In this regards, Uttara University always employs experienced teachers to ensure quality education through providing congenial environment for teaching. Above all, through the direct and indirect cooperation of different Governmental organizations along with whole hearted support of our experienced and knowledgeable faculties, Uttara University has been playing very important role to make our students skilled. I welcome you all at this auspicious certificate awarding ceremony. You all have to contribute in developing this country and all you have achieved today will have to offer for the overall development of this country".
In her thanksgiving speech, Prof Dr Eaysmin Ara Lekha, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Uttara University said, "I extend my heartiest thanks to all of you for your gracious presence in this 6th Convocation of Uttara University. I believe that students' success is our success. We have to face the challenges of the 21st century and your firm belief and determination will help you to fight with problems to reach your ultimate destination. We will always be with you and wish you best of luck".
In this convocation program, different parliament members, intellectuals, high government officials, trustee board members from different universities, Vice-Chancellors and Pro Vice-Chancellors of different public and private universities were present.
