Schoolgirl killed after 'rape'

UNB, Patuakhali :
A seventh grader was killed allegedly after rape in her house at Serajpur village of Kolapara upazila near Kuakata in the district.
The victim, aged about 11, was a student of Mohipur High School.
Victim's mother alleged that some miscreants swooped on their house on Tuesday night and raped her daughter.
No male members of the house was present when the miscreants entered the house, she said.
Quoting locals, officer-in-charge of Mohipur Police Station Mizanur Rahman said locals rushed to the spot after hearing scream of the victim's mother and sister around 10 pm and found the slaughtered body of the girl lying on the floor while her mother and sister tied with rope.
The girl was declared dead when she was taken to Kuakata Hospital while her mother, who was also beaten by the attackers, was admitted to the hospital. The victim's body, which bore multiple marks of injuries, was sent for autopsy, he said.
