ATM booth night guard hacked to death

UNB, Joypurhat :
A night guard of an ATM booth of Mutual Trust Bank was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants in Bhatar Mor area of the district town early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Shafiqul Islam, 33, son of Abdul Motaleb, of Bamonpara village in Badalgachhi upazila of Naogaon district.
Selim Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said another security guard of the booth Khairul Islam found the body locked in a bathroom on the first floor of the building when he came for the duty around 8 am.
Later, he informed it to branch manager Shahjalal Sarker, he added.
Immediately, the branch manager rushed in and informed the police after sensing the incident of an attempted robbery. On information, police visited the spot and recovered the body.
Meanwhile, the branch manager claimed that the gang could not loot any money from the vault of the booth.
