3 held with duty free clothes worth Tk 23 lakh

Chattogram Bureau :
Chattogram Metro Paolice  seized a covered van loaded with cloths that imported  under bond facilities  worth about Tk.23 lakh.
Three persons  allegedly involved with the trafficking  of cloths were arrested instantly.
Asstt. Commissioner of Police Ashiqur Rahman confirmed that the covered van was  seized at  AK Khan crossing under Pahartali thana in city at early hours of Thursday.
The detained traffickers are  identified as Md.Alamgir, Samrat and Md. Sajib  .Out of three, Samrat and Sajib are driver and helper of the covered van respectively and Alamgir belong to importer's  representative.
The seized cloths consists of 233 rolls of different colours.
The detained have been sent to jail custody by court on Thursday evening, court sources said. Pahartali thana Officer- In-Charge Md. Rafiqul Islam told that  police prayed for 5 days remand each before the court.
The driver told the police that these  cloths were sending to Narayangonj from Baizid area of the city.
