Discussion on Bangamata at BRUR

The Bengali nation is proud of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib, wife of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who always inspired Bangabandhu during tough times.
"Bangamata was a unique personality and we have got our present Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through the birth of the great woman," said Vice- chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Prof Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah at a discussion on Wednesday as chief guest.
The authority of Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib Hall (SFMH) organised the discussion at its auditorium on the life, works and sacrifice of Bangamata to the long struggles for independence in celebration of her 88th birth anniversary.
With Provost of SFMH Professor Sharifa Salowa Dina in the chair, its Assistant Provosts Nishrat Zaman and Arifa Sultana, Section Officer Mahbuba Akhter and President of SFMH unit of Chhatra League Salma Sabiha Khushi, addressed the event.
Earlier, the authority of SFMH led by its Provost Dr Dina placed wreathsat the portrait of Bangamata in the hall auditorium.
Dr Dina discussed the unparallel sacrifice and perseverance of Bangamata during the tough political life of Bangabandhu and said that the Bengali nation would always remember her.
"Bangamata never allowed Bangabandhu to get upset under tough situations during the days of uneven struggles for independence," she said. Professor Kalimullah said Bangamata always remained beside Bangabandhu and inspired and suggested him properly during the days of organising long struggles on way to achieving the ultimate independence.
