Man held with 5 kg heroin in city

A man was arrested with heroin from city's Mirpur Darussalam area by the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Wednesday night.
The detainee is identified as Md Nizam.
DMP Deputy Commissioner (DC)
 Masudur Rahman said the media that the heroin was seized in a drive as part of DMP's ongoing raid against illegal drugs.
After primary questioning, it was known that Nizam used to supply large consignments of heroin in Dhaka from India and Pakistan. Aside from drug business, he is also involved in arms trading. Police are also trying to find out his buyers in Dhaka, he added.
