  • Print

Campus Report :
Dhaka Commerce College (DCC) has achieved the prestige of being one of the best colleges from Business Studies group in HSC Exam 2018. This year 2220 students appeared in HSC Exam from this college. Among them 123 students secured GPA 5. The rate of passing was 99.77 per cent.
From the very beginning, DCC has been able to improve results up to remarkable points. Generally, students can supersede their SSC results with the ones they secure in HSC exams from this college. For example, the number of students who had GPA 5 in their SSC level at the time of their admission into this college was only 108, and it increased to 123 in the HSC Exam this year. The most glaring improvement in results of the college this year is that 73 students who had SSC results ranging from 3.61 to 4.88 secured GPA 5.
Dhaka Commerce College maintains regular classes and timely examinations with a view to making the course of studies easier for students so that they can get prepared for board exams timely. To make the course of studies smooth and proper there are six student advisers who help the higher administration of the college run nicely. They maintain students' regularity in classes and other terms of discipline. Moreover, as guide teachers, all other teachers take intense care of students concerning their academic affairs even extending their help to consulting the guardians.
Being asked to speak of the ways and means of improved results of the college, Prof Md. Shafiqul Islam, the Vice Principal (Administration), says, "Our students essentially maintain three things: regular classes, timely exams and all round discipline. There is no scope to neglect any of them. Besides, we regularly inform guardians of the latest condition of studies. Sometimes, we sit to meet and discuss many necessary things concerning the best of our students. As our government has prohibited private tuition, we observe government orders, and our teachers are not involved in private tuition. Rather the college centrally arranges personal help according to the necessity of students."
DCC makes its students prepared to face the coming challenges in life as conscious citizens. In this regard the college provides them with all possible scopes so that they can take part in cultural and sport events within the college and beyond. Through this process students become able to enter wider spheres of life with remarkable success. For example, students of this college, in broader scopes of life, can carry out all kinds of responsibilities with comfortable ease. In this respect Prof. Md. Abu Sayeed, the Principal of the college, says, "Our students enter higher studies in public universities in greater numbers every year. To make them prepared we have a nice set of qualified teachers. And above all, the college is run by a governing body that consists of some prudent members."
A brightly mentionable thing is that Dhaka Commerce College is run by the prudent guidance of a governing body having Prof Dr Shafiq Ahmed Siddique as the Chairman.
Another mention may be made that Dhaka Commerce College achieved the prestige of being the best educational institution twice, in 1996 and 2002 respectively. Moreover, according to the National University College Ranking this college was ranked the best private college twice in 2015 and 2016 respectively in the country.
