Department of History, Jagannath University (JnU) hosted a seminar titled 'Archaeology: History and Heritage" on Monday at JnU Central Auditorium. Prof Dr Mijanur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of JnU was the chief guest in the seminar.
The seminar was chaired by Prof Dr Khadija Khatun, Chairman of History Department while Prof Md Selim Bhuiyan, Treasurer of JnU was the special guest.
Prof Dr Sufi Mustafizur Rahman of Archaeology Department, Jahangirnagar University (JU) and Dr Keka Benarje, Curator of Asiatic Society Kolkata, India presented articles in the seminar under the headlines of "A talk on Buddhist artifacts recently discovered from Wari Bateshwar and Vikrampur" and "Buddhist Vestiges of West Bengal: A Asuvy" respectively.
Prof Dr Bulbul Ahmed, Chairman of JU Archaeology Department discussed on both the articles. Greeting speech was delivered by Prof Dr Mohammad Selim of JnU History Department.
Deans of different faculties, teachers and students of different departments were present in the seminar.
