EWU student gets Prime Minister Gold Medal

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina placing gold medal to Afifa Binta Saifuddin, a student of East West University in a simple ceremony at PMO recently.

Afifa Binta Saifuddin, student of East West University (EWU) received the prestigious Prime Minister Gold Medal for her outstanding academic results by the University Grants Commission (UGC) Bangladesh. Afifa completed her graduation from the Department of Pharmacy in 2017.
She achieved a CGPA 3.99 out of 4.00. She also attained the Gold Medal in the last convocation of East West University this year.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina placed the gold medal on Afifa's neck in a simple ceremony on 25 July 2018 at PM Office.
On the occasion, 163 students of public and private universities of the country were all awarded gold medals.
More than 100 private universities of the country, however, only two received gold medals.
Chairperson of the Board of Trustee, EWU, Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, and Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr MM Shahidul Hassan congratulated Afifa for receiving the prestigious gold medal. In the future, Afifa would like to be a researcher in her field.
